ANAHEIM, Calif. (April 23, 2010) – Professional mini bike racing and the GEICO MiniMotoSX, presented by Monster Energy – the microwave version of the event once dubbed the “Super Bowl of Motocross” – is poised to celebrate its marquee contest of the 2010 competition season when mini bike racers from all over the planet boot up and have at it in front of an expected sellout crowd at the Orleans Arena on Friday, May 7th.
Names like McGrath, Emig, Pingree, Demuth, Lawrence, Gosselaar and Baggett have all applied their formidable dirt bike skills – with and without great success – to the hallowed mini bike racing grounds of the Orleans. This year’s returning champions feature and equal amount of skill and dedication to their craft and now, from a global standpoint, enter the Orleans Arena on May 7th with one thing in mind – winning a world championship.
“It’s crazy how tough the MMSX race has gotten over the years. In fact, it’s chased off a couple of big names that didn’t want to get beat anymore,” said David Pingree. “I still have fun out there but it does piss me off when I get beat by some kid that spends half his life riding mini bikes. I’m just competitive that way. But at the end of the day I always have a good time at MiniMotoSX and I guess that’s what keeps me coming back.”
Added Mike Karsting, VP of Events for Source Interlink Media: “The depth of the talent with the riders contesting this year’s GEICO MiniMotoSX is the greatest we’ve ever seen. Returning champions will be in an end-all battle on Friday, May 7th to defend their No. 1 plates. On paper this looks to be, easily, the strongest field GEICO MiniMotoSX has ever enjoyed.”
