I was sad to see the changes inside the engine—I have a 1500cc nomad(same as 1600cc)—the 1700 has chain drive primary like a harley—one more thing to wear and adjust(1500 is all gears and maintenance free—the cam adjuster are external on the 1500 and easy to fix,1700 requires engine covers to remove just to get at them—belt vs shaft—wheel,swing arm ,front pully and shock all must come off for belt replacement—ugh on the road—60,000 miles on the shaft,no problem—I'm sad and nervous—I really am in love with the looks though,darn it

This is basically a rehash of Kawasaki marketing. There's nothing experiential here. The engine a proven design? It's been out 2 years at best. Excellent fuel economy? How do you know? No one has ridden it and reported on it yet. We can get the same palaver reading Kawasaki's website and looking at the same pictures Kawasaki supplied you.
