Stevie Nicks Takes Stage with Jeff Bridges at The Sturgis Buffalo Chip®

BUFFALO CHIP, S.D. (JULY 15, 2011) — Stevie Nicks will join Jeff Bridges on the main stage of the Buffalo Chip Campground on Thursday, August 11. The duo will perform songs from their respective albums, as well as favorites from Fleetwood Mac.

The Bob Woodruff Foundation has selected The Legendary Buffalo Chip to host the American Thunder Music Festival during the iconic Sturgis Motorcycle Rally to celebrate the men and women of the United States Military, hosted by Academy Award winner Jeff Bridges, Rock and Roll Icon John Fogerty and featuring iconic music legend Stevie Nicks.
Nicks is one of America’s Rock Goddesses having had an incredible career with Fleetwood Mac and an extensive solo career producing over 40 Top 50 hits and selling over 140 million albums.
In May, Nicks released her first album in 10 years, her seventh independent album, In Your Dreams. Nicks intends to delight audiences with her ethereal and seductive sound as her voice travels from the beginning of her career in 1974 to her latest 2011 album.
Rolling Stone once named Nicks “The Reigning Queen of Rock and Roll.”   She has eight Grammy Award nominations as a solo artists and was nominated five other times with Fleetwood Mac. In 1977/1978 she won the “Album of the Year” Grammy with Fleetwood Mac for   Rumors. In 1998, she was inducted, to the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame as a member of Fleetwood Mac. The album Rumors is the ninth highest selling album of all time, selling over 40 million copies.

Arenaline Junkies Score a Zip line at the Sturgis Buffalo Chip

BUFFALO CHIP CAMPGROUND, S.D. (July12, 2011) — Adrenaline, it’s the motivating chemical reaction for many bikers. The rush, the wind flying past your head, the risk of a sharp turn, the speed — it’s as close to flying as a biker can get. Until now. Flightlinez is sending aerial daredevils on an 850-foot zip line ride over the amphitheater of the Legendary Buffalo Chip.

Soar through the air, worry-free, at the 2011 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally with Flightlinez. If you love speed and the open air, this zip line is the ride for you. Flightlinez has entertained thousands of Vegas and Atlantic City thrill-seekers and now they are on their way to Sturgis for the 2011 Sturgis Motorcycle Rally. Stop by the Legendary Buffalo Chip to experience this 850-foot adrenaline rush. The Buffalo Chip’s zip line will be an exhilarating ride for as many as 4 riders at a time.  Launching from a height of 70 feet, riders will fly over the Buffalo Chip’s concert amphitheater at speeds of up to 30 miles an hour.

Flyers will experience a thrilling rush as world-famous bands like Stevie Nicks, Lynyrd Skynyrd, Poison, Alice Cooper, Toby Keith, Def Leppard, Pop Evil, STYKS, and Tesla jam on their guitars and rock out just below their feet. Zooming over the cheering crowd it will make you feel like a supernatural rock star.

Normal rates are $15 before 6 pm and $20 for the ultra-daring night rides. Riders must be at least 60 pounds, not more than 250 pounds, and must be less than 6 foot 7 inches to ride safely. Rides will be open 3 pm to 2 am daily during the Sturgis Motorcycle Rally.
